Every once in a while I remind all you good folk of a free contest going on almost daily at youbet.net. It is very simple to sign up for and in minutes you are in and able to play. The contest and site worked flawlessly for me until last Monday July 24th...After hitting a pretty good Exacta at Mohawk my ROI% stood at 3700% which in most cases is good enough for winning the $100 (on rare occasion it could be $500)..however after that very bet..I could not update my contest standings as a youbet pop-up started up saying an unexplained error has occurred. I tried using The Queen Of Ann Arbor's handle and password and it worked fine for her...just mine was acting up. After about 6 emails and 3 calls to youbet customer service trying to get someone to tell me what the winning ROI for that day was...I finally got a call Friday evening stating I was the winner (continued below)

Here are my selections for today's big day of racing at Mohawk and The Meadowlands. Just click right here
for the pdf version or continue reading in the extended post below. Have a great Saturday Handicapping Harness!!
Oh, what could have been! Still, not too shabby for a big racing day. Mohawk was 4/13 for -$10.40 net. There were 4 place, 1 show and 4 out of the money. Meadowlands was nice. 7/14 winners for +$7.00 net. There were 2 place, 2 show and 3 out of the money. If the #4 (Roddy's Bags Again) could have gotten up in the 14th, it would have made my day! A game of inches, eh?

Book Review Coming Up
I wrote about my Library of Harness Racing Books a while back. The thing is, it's been a while since I actually have read any of the books, or even glanced through them. So, to remedy that, I'm going to pull a few off the bookshelf and get re-reading and post a review on Tuesdays, either every week or every two weeks, depending on how fast I can write up my review. The books I'm going to read are the four from the last poll. They won't be in order of publication but in what I feel is order of sophistication (least to most). #1 "Betting Winners" by Don Valliere, #2 "Harness Racing Gold" by Igor Kusyshyn, #3 "Stanley's Law" by Al Stanley, #4 "Professional Harness Betting" by Barry Meadow. If you have an old copy of these books laying around, why not re-read them and critique along with me. Most of these books are over 25 years old, so one thing I'll be looking for is how well they hold up to handicapping in this modern era. Information is ammunition, so anything I can pull out of these books will be a plus for all of us!
