Here's an oddity in the 5th race at Saratoga today (I had the 2 horse keyed in a few different bets): Correction: I had the 1 horse. It was the show price that made me look up the pool totals.
The 8 horse in this race had $10 in the win pool, $2 in the place pool and $986 in the show pool. $986 to show in a pool of $1412 total on a horse that was 87-1? What the heck was that all about?

saratoga harness is taken by numerous off shore race books. I have noticed that a couple times a week the show pool is manipulated in this way. Another track that this is done is pompano. Small pools and taken by alot of the off shore guys
