Yep..we took a little road trip Saturday to Pinnacle Race Track in New Boston Michigan, about 2 miles South of Detroit Metro Airport...Exacta Eddie, Justin time to get my bet in, $2DaD2$, Carl The Closer Sr. and yours truly...The Clocker....The first thing we noticed on the outside was that the building itself looked much smaller in person than on it's web-site...to see the picture click it on http://pinnacleracecourse.com/VisitUs/about.aspx ... (Story continued in the Continue Reading Section)
They did not have a pick-up or drop-off lane right at the door...the best we could manage was about 40 yards from the main entrance...Right off the bat a guy we used to see at Northville came up and said hi to $2 and myself...the advance scouting party determined we should sit close to the tellers...that section was comprised of what probably is outdoor type table and chairs...to the left of that section were about 50 individual seats with tv...in the middle there was a bar...to the left of the bar was more individual seating for about 50 and to the far left were about 12 dining room tables...I did not see an open snack bar...so I am not sure if they have one...our round of drinks was handled by a waitress..There were about 30 flat screen TV's all lined up in a row and about 12 feet high...the video looked like it was in HD...I would guess they were all 42" screens...very nice...except for me...had to keep craning my neck to see the race...and my upper back was not cooperating with that posture...the boys of the group hit good early and had some ammo to fire away with...I myself advanced bet at home where it would be a lot easier than running to the Self-Betting machines or the Tellers...(I also get a nice cash-back for the online bets)...Overall the place was still looking New and was a definite upgrade from the Simulcast Facility at Northville Downs...there were also a lot of self-betting machines and even a machine to buy programs....I probably will not go there again but I would recommend that everyone in the Detroit Metro area who play the ponies and buggies have a look-see for themselves....
