The Meadowlands Winter Survival Challenge is now open for registration. The contest starts Friday, January 13th. Have a great day and a Great New Year, Handicapping Harness!
Not harness racing related but I have to give a shout out to the old alma mater, Wayne State University, playing in the NCAA Division II Football Championship game at 11:00am EST this morning. The Warriors will be playing the Pittsburgh State Gorillas for the DII Crown. The game is broadcast on ESPN 2. Good Luck Warriors! Go Get Em!
I'm in Michigan for a few days and I headed out tonight with The Clocker and $2 Dad to our old stomping grounds, Northville Downs. It was closing night for the year and there is not too much to say except that it will probably be at least another couple of years before I make a return engagement. With on-line betting, there is just no point in putting up with the crap out there. On a brighter note however, after we drove back home tonight, I hit my 3rd $100 horse of the year (win price) the last race at Northfield Park. Nothing like being able to handicap with no distractions! Have a great day Handicapping Harness!
Daily Double points us to a post in Harness Eye, regarding the replacing of established drivers with provisional drivers at Freehold Raceway last Friday, October 15th. I didn't bet the pick 4 but I had bet the pick 3 and never knew anything about this until now. When you read the story, I'm sure you'll think that something just doesn't smell right about it. Thanks DD!
Here's an Anthony McDonald promo for RACE DAY: a soon to be documentary about harness racing by those who love it, live it and breath it. Hope there are some handicappers in there! Race Day will premier January 28th, 2012. Have a great day Handicapping Harness!
I was laying on the couch tonight, watching some educational TV (Bikini Allstars was on), when lo and behold, a commercial came on for The Breeders Crown! I believe that this is the first TV commercial I've ever seen for the Breeders Crown (or maybe any Harness program?) out here in the middle of the Pacific. The channel is MAVTV (Created by Men for Men) and the have a 1/2 hour special followed by 2 hours of Breeders Crown programing next Saturday night. Might be interesting to watch (I'm taping it).
Northville Closes
